Beginning marks the first work in Natalia Revoniuk’s exploration of an ultrablack ground — a surface that absorbs light and allows every line to emerge with heightened clarity.
Built entirely by hand, the composition develops through hundreds of contours, appearing gradually from the darkness. The work reflects a moment before definition: when something new has already begun, but its final form is still unknown.
Rather than depicting a particular image, Beginning invites the viewer to remain with this moment of emergence — the quiet threshold between absence and presence.
